Maps make the world go round / 按图索世界

I’ve been fascinated with the visual qualities of maps lately, which is what this doodle grew out of.

Brittle edges, voluptuous contours, implied flows and currents of people, animals, things, territories, ‘imagined communities’, borders, resources, foods, underground deep-sea mountainous desert tundra, mammoth transportation projects, spatially overlapping histories, legends and logos, networks, time zones, mythical places, the most minute of details to the largest of overviews in one sweep…..
